Ross Metherell
Ross has taught many of Australia's leading players, including Craig Parry, Stephen Leaney, Greg Chalmers, Brett Rumford and Jarrod Moseley. Ross was State Coach during WA's most successful era and has recently been reinstated to that role. In the interim 6 years he was played the European Seniors Tour and won two of Europe's biggest events.
David Wilson
David started his apprenticeship as a golf professional at Collier Park Golf Course in 1986 as a 17 year old under Ross Metherell.
After his time he travelled to England and spent 1 year at one of London's busiest public golf course as a teaching professional and in sales. David then played tournament golf through Malaysia for 3 years before heading to Germany teaching golf as head professional in Berlin for 9 years. David joined Ross as his business partner at Collier Park in 2004.
Gavin Fontaine
As a young child I found my passion for golf. During my apprenticeship in Perth as a golf professional I knew that I wanted to share this passion with other people - and teach them how to play golf. In the last 20 years of teaching I was fortunate enough to get a wide range of experience through playing with top golfers, learning from the best teachers and playing courses all over the world.
During those years I participated in numerous golf seminars to improve my skills as a teacher and more and more I focused on the mental side of the game. Today, with a Diploma in Sport Psychology, my goal is to get that satisfaction back into all of my student's golf game - but not only through their technique, but also through their mental strength for golf. Gary Hopkins
Gary started as a junior member at Hartfield Country Club in 1975 - 1978. He was a trainee professional under Ross Metherell from 1978 to 1981 at Hartfield and head professional at Hartfield from 1984 to 1987. He has been a professional at Collier Park since 1987.
Gary is fully conversant with all aspects of the golf industry including retail and merchandising as well as an A rated teaching professional.
Emma Stewart
Emma started playing golf at 8 years of age with her older sister and Mum at Whaleback Golf Course. Not long afterwards, Emma joined Melville Glades Golf Club as a junior member. From 13 years old she represtented W.A. at Junior and State level 2000 - 2004 and became State Champion in 2003. She also represented Australia at Junior level 2002 - 2004 and held 5 course records in Perth.
Emma started at work at Collier Park Golf Course in 2004 and a year later turned professional - joined the Australian Ladies Professional Golf. She is now heavily involved in Junior Coaching at Collier Park and works with Country Golf Courses improving the juniors. Collier Park now has a Girls Golf Club and a Junior Golf Club with 60 juniors attending classes every week.
Glenn Hollman
Glenn arrived in Australia in 1983 from London, England. Glenn started playing golf in 1984 and joined Wanneroo Golf Club in 1985. Glenn was lucky enough to win the Junior championship twice. He turned professional in 1990 and trained under David Milne.
Glenn became leading professional at Meadow Springs in 1995 and left to take up a position at Collier Park in 1997, where apart from a short time away, he has remained.
Although proficient in all aspects of the PGA, Glen believes his main role is club fitting and repairs.
Shane Burgess
Over 15 years experience in retail. Three years Pro-Shop manager at the Gosnells Golf Club. Single figure golfer. Has been at Collier Park since 2006.
Brett Maxwell
He has worked many years in the retail and hospitality industry. Has been at Collier Park since 2007. Brett's experience in sales and customer service are invaluable to Collier Park Golf Course.
Nick Crundell
Nick is a Very good golfer. He represented Western Australia at state level in junior and senior golf. He has been Club Champion at Joondalup Golf Club. Nick was a former Director of Drummond Golf stores in Cannington and Osborne Park and has joined us at Collier Park.
